The Riverledge Foundation, which was incorporated in 2009, is interested in promoting conservation of working landscapes and historic preservation in southern Vermont. We do this mostly through facilitating collaborations between other successful non-profits. Some of our partners are the Vermont Land Trust, Preservation Trust of Vermont, The Nature Conservancy, Vermont Woodlands Association, Vermont Coverts, and Vermont Center for Ecostudies.
One of the organization’s primary interests is forest management. We have a direct connection with a small sawmill and as we create our own integrated forest management plan, we are exploring opportunities for collaborative (or at least coordinated) forest management with neighboring property owners.
